Unit 6

After reviewing the reading, I chose to focus on interpersonal relationships for growth and development. My relationships with others are vital to my happiness and ability to flourish. In order to improve my relationships with other, I must learn to be open. I must also try to see people as they are and not as I am. I could engage in more community events and also get my family involved in these events. This will strengthen my relationship with peers and also with my family.

Unit 5

I had a hard time with the subtle mind exercise. The narrators voices were not engaging, and did not produce a calming effect as I am used to in my hypnotherapy sessions. I think this made me resistant to the process. I did enjoy the sounds of the ocean though. I would start to relax and engage in the exercise, but would lose my focus as soon as the narrator would speak.

I have always believed that spiritual, mental, and physical wellness are closely related and dependent upon each other. I notice if I am off balance in one area, the other areas seem to be off balance as well. For instance if I am feeling sad or depressed, I often feel physically ill as well. It may be something minor such as a stomach ache or headache, but the negative impact is still felt.

Unit 4

I have been participating in hypnotherapy for about a month now. So I found the exercise to be easy. I could easily picture my loved ones (my two children) and the love that I have for them is so easy for me to tap into. These types of exercises remind me what is really important in life. Stress comes and goes, and it must be dealt with. Your relationships with your loved ones are the most important thing in life. I definitely recommend these types of exercise to others. I feel they help you refocus and find your inner balance.

A mental workout has the same goals as a physical workout. You must exercise your mind, lime your body, to keep it in shape. You obviously can't give your mind a physical workout, but you can give it a mental one. I, personally, prefer games and puzzles to challenge and exercise my mind.Mental workouts can improve your memory, help you become a more focused listener, and help you be more engaged and tuned into other activities.

Unit 3

On a scale of 1 to 10 regarding my physical well-being, I give myself a 6. I am trying to lose weight, but I have the knowledge and tools I need to reach this goal. I simply lack motivation. As far as Spiritual well-being, I give myself an 8. I am comfortable with my spirituality and related beliefs. I believe that there is always something new to be learned though. Psychologically I give my well-being a 7. I manage my stress and anxiety with medication, but I need to find other ways to heal my mind and mental state.
My goals for physical well-being include getting more exercise and losing weight.
Spiritually, my goal is to attend church more often in order to nurture my relationship with God.
Psychologically, my goal is to spend more time meditating in order to clear my head and deal with my anxiety and stress.
I think exercising on my elliptical trainer will help me with my physical goals, and yoga will help me with my spiritual and psychological goals.
The Crime of the Century exercise was overall pleasant for me. The background music and the sound of the narrator’s voice immediately put me at ease and help me to relax. The frustrating part is trying to tune out the people around me.
